Job Description Job Description A growing company is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its Charlotte division. This role supports field operations and management by ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and detailed financial reporting for multiple construction projects. Key Responsibilities Oversee project billing cycles —prepare, verify, and post invoices for completed work in coordination with project managers and field teams. Manage accounts receivable and collections , following up with clients to ensure timely payments and accurate cash application. Reconcile cash receipts, customer payments, and project revenue to maintain up-to-date financial records. Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cash in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Track and report A/R aging, collection status, and project profitability to management on a regular basis. Maintain organized billing logs, customer records, and supporting documentation in accounting systems. Assist with month-end close and special projects related to financial reporting or process improvement. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of billing, collections, or project accounting experience (construction industry preferred) OR Entry Level graduate with a Bachelors in Accounting . Strong understanding of A/R processes, cash posting, and reconciliation . Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software; Excel and MS Office skills required. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving ability . Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service mindset. Self-motivated team player with a results-driven approach and commitment to accuracy.
