Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team at Virginia Power Solutions, a leading provider of home standby generators. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of home standby generator systems. You will work directly with customers to ensure the reliability and efficiency of their power systems, ensuring peace of mind during power outages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on existing standby generators to ensure proper operation.
• Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by explaining generator system operations, offering guidance on maintenance practices, and addressing customer concerns.
• Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and methods to identify and resolve generator system issues efficiently.
• System Testing: Conduct tests on systems to verify proper operation and load testing.
• Documentation: Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and installation records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, codes, and regulations related to generator installation and servicing.
• Inventory Management: Manage and maintain tools and parts inventory, ensuring availability for repairs and installations.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in servicing home standby generators or related equipment (HVAC, electrical systems, etc.) is preferred .
• Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and electrical wiring skills.
• Certifications: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Relevant certifications a plus.
• Knowledge: Understanding of electrical codes, safety protocols, and generator components preferred.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
• Customer Service: Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with homeowners and address their needs.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose complex issues and provide effective solutions on-site.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with home standby generators.
• Familiarity with home electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
